1825 Unit 1 shows the area of England and Wales east of Cardiff and south of Norwich. This includes the London and Birmingham areas and features the old Southern Division of the LONDON & NORTH WESTERN RAILWAY, which used to be based at Wolverton in what is now Milton Keynes, the GREAT WESTERN RAILWAY and the four companies that were most heavily involved in commuter lines into London: the GREAT EASTERN RAILWAY, LONDON AND SOUTH WESTERN RAILWAY, SOUTH EASTERN AND CHATHAM RAILWAY and the LONDON, BRIGHTON AND SOUTH COAST RAILWAY. Several other railways ran in this region and three of them: the MIDLAND RAILWAY, GREAT NORTHERN RAILWAY, and the GREAT CENTRAL RAILWAY appear in Unit 2.
